The EasyLink plugin streamlines the process of linking related notes by providing instant, ranked suggestions when you select text and trigger its command. Instead of searching manually, you get a pop up with similar content based on contextual keyword matching and relevance scoring. You can link directly to headings or blocks, not just files, and insert formatted wiki-links right where you need them. Results are customisable - you can exclude certain folders, set a minimum similarity score, and control how many results you see.

EasyLink supercharges your note-linking workflow. Instead of manually searching for related ideas, simply select a phrase, run the command, and get an instant, ranked list of the most relevant content from your entire vault, complete with rich previews.

Core Features

Intelligent, Contextual Search: Finds similar content based on shared keywords.
Relevance Scoring: Ranks results with a similarity score (%) to show the most relevant content first.

Highly Customizable:

How to Use

Select Text: Highlight a word, phrase, or sentence in your note.
Run Command:
- Click the link icon in the left ribbon.
- Right-click on the selection and choose "EasyLink: Find similar content".
- OR, open the Command Palette (Ctrl/Cmd + P) and run the command EasyLink: Find similar content for selection.
Review Previews: A pop-up modal will appear, showing rich previews of similar content, sorted by the highest relevance score.
Choose an Action:
- Press Enter: Inserts a perfectly formatted link ([[Note#^blockId|Your Selected Text]]) at your cursor's position.
- Press Ctrl + Enter (or Cmd + Enter on macOS): Opens the source note in a new tab for quick reference.

Installation

From the Community Plugins Store

In Obsidian, go to Settings -> Community plugins.
Make sure "Restricted mode" is off.
Click Browse and search for "EasyLink".
Click Install, and then, once it's finished, click Enable.
