The Garble Text plugin allows users to obfuscate all content within Obsidian, turning text into unreadable characters and blurring images, providing a secure way to take screenshots without revealing sensitive information. The plugin's garbled text can be revealed simply by hovering over it, ensuring that it remains hidden when not needed. It can be activated through the commands palette, offering a quick toggle feature. The plugin also includes planned improvements, such as regex-based garbling and custom display fonts for garbled text, enhancing its versatility for privacy-conscious users.

Garble Text

This plugin exposes the garbleText() function in Obsidian. Use the commands palette (ctrl+p) to find the function Toggle Garble Text.

Garbling text in Obsidian turns all content in the entire app (notes, sidebar, etc) into unreadable text (and blurs images) so you can take screenshots without exposing sensitive data.

Garbled text is ungarbled on hover.
